About me
I'm Cristóbal Segovia, a solutions architect and engineer, and this notebook is where I write down what I learn working with enterprise infrastructure: data center, compute and networking.
I've spent years on real projects (network design, virtualization, storage, migrations) and I noticed something: the best lessons almost never get written down. They're solved at 2 in the morning, jotted in a notebook, and forgotten. labnotes.sh is my attempt to change that: to leave a record of the detail that saves you, the mistake I made and learned from, and the reasoning behind an architecture decision.
Alongside that I'm finishing a degree in Industrial Civil Engineering and a Master's in Information Technology, so the management side pulls at me too: making sure the technical work makes sense for the business, not just on paper.
On the technical side I move mostly in the Cisco world (I hold the CCIE Data Center, among others), plus VMware, Nutanix and storage. But more than the hardware, what I enjoy is understanding why something works, or why it falls over.
If this is your line of work, I'm writing for you. No smoke, no filler, no magic solutions being sold.
